The top trend in application architecture is set to burden corporate IT workers.

Some app architects from forward-thinking companies already work with modern platforms and have a data integration strategy.

But for most IT professionals, Gartner analysts offer a glimpse of the future, with a list of the 10 biggest enterprise application trends expected on application strategies over the next three to five years. And Solutions Summit 2018 this week.

Although, to take advantage of these trends, organizations may require more site expertise than they currently have, Gartner said by 2020, with about 700,000 works open to data scientists, data engineers and data developers.

A smart application

According to Gartner, organizations need to be more intelligent for their applications, building applications, managing complex IT ecosystems, and innovating with new technologies in the coming years.

AI, contextual awareness, and the rise of virtual assistants and bots discuss how large amounts of data benefit organizations that collect.

Everyone is looking for these technologies to bring insights into their businesses and help employees improve their jobs, Gartner analyst Dennis Gohan said, adding that it also helps speed up data processing and analysis.

“We can identify new patterns or use these insights to make better decisions,” he said.

Context-aware applications rely on end-user data to improve the quality of their interactions. If they invest in context-sensitive application architecture, organizations can deliver a better application experience for their customers.

However, companies need to focus on designing their default applications across multiple channels to reach end users.

Virtual Assistant is the third trend of intelligence for enterprise applications. However these devices are not new. But they are becoming increasingly active and complex in the near future, especially as a tool to increase the number of customer service personnel.

For example, in health care, bots can monitor a person’s health and check whether a patient regularly takes medications.

Better integration of data

Three other major areas for application architects focus on data integration.

Gartner expects organizations to develop on a digital business technology platform where they can share and streamline their digital processes to achieve greater business benefits.

These platforms defined how organizations define customer engagement, products and services, and how they typically support business models, Gaughan said.

Organizations should focus more on API strategy. The API is more than a programming interface. They are business meeting rooms.

“APIs are at the heart of how we connect with business partners, how we integrate between applications [and] the way we deliver mobile applications.”

Amid these data integration trends, Gartner emphasized that application delivery should come as complementary components that are integrated to function as applications.

When an architect assembles an application as a modular service rather than a monolithic architecture, it can improve overall application delivery and speed. But there is an attempt to modernize it for microservices or other component architectures.

Modern idea for modern application

Four additional enterprise application trends address innovations.

Gaughan viewed the IT team from a product perspective from the project perspective of the job. The project was constrained and strategic and was incomplete.

IT stores must work on products. They need to consider how to deliver the next set of qualifications or competencies and infuse their business expertise into the process.

“The project model has failed. Some organizations go back and see if they achieve their objectives,” he said.

Continuous modernization, which eliminates the idea of a legacy that encourages regular, real-time delivery, should occur over the next five years, according to Gartner. I work without knowing how bad it is.

Impressive augmented reality relies on application architects to provide a platform to bring real-time graphics, audio and other interactive experiences to the real world.

And finally, digital expertise means a workplace where people and programs can adapt to change. “This” enterprise usage trend] is about team collaboration – about social engagement, “Gaughan said.

Luke Steiner, senior manager of enterprise applications at the internal IT staff at Highland Software Inc. in West Lake, Ohio, said his company was likely to use these applications due to compatibility with the product. Steiner’s team is using Hyland’s onbase process management software and reorganizing the suite to run in the cloud.
