Desperate to stay away from the repetition of the challenges of 2020, provide chain leaders with a desire to have great relevance to customers, strong resilience to disruptions, and the expertise to increase accountability to society and the planet.

New findings from Accenture’s Technology Imaginative and Presenter 2021, based on responses from more than 600 supply chain leaders, show that 81% of executives said the pandemic has been their group’s biggest stress test. In fact, the same numbers agree that they are undergoing technological changes at unprecedented speed and scale.

Chris Timmerman, who leads Accenture’s Provide Chain and Operations follow-up, noted in an interview that chain executives envision that expertise is now strategically important to their companies and therefore they are at an unprecedented pace and scale. But undergoing technical modifications.

“The cloud is now the top priority expertise to provide to on-chain executives, cited by 42%. Nearly all (93%) provide on-chain executives who project 50% or more of their enterprise to be in the cloud over the next three years apply,” Timmerman says.

“With driving speed, agility, scale and visibility, the cloud holds an important place in social and environmental sustainability and accountability. The use of cloud-native architecture and sustainable software program engineering can reduce carbon emissions by 5-10% – making green specialization common.
